FoodFutures is North Lancashire’s award-winning Sustainable Food Network. Working to build a collaborative community of practitioners, food citizens, policy makers and researchers that work on food matters in the local food area. They approached us to create a brand identity that would incorporate the ethos of the brand, utilise illustration but still have a modern feel.

Sustainable Food City Lancaster worked with a number of partners and focus groups to a create a series of briefing documents and keys words they wanted the new brand to embody. This included words such as webs, connecting, rooted, roots, soil, dynamic movement, social and people.
We worked on a series of root vegetable illustrations which were well received, however they asked if we could try and include people, health and exercise within the vegetables. In order to achieve this, we worked on creating a series of simplistic stick people in various yoga poses that we could organically incorporate in to the illustration.
The brand is big, bold and colourful and lends itself to be used on a series of promotional items including clothing, tote bags and reusable coffee cups.
Travelling between the different towns within the area, provides another opportunity to promote the scheme with well designed vehicle graphics.
