Plain Creative were approached by Graeme Mitchell (from Mitchell Krause Brewing at the time) to have a conversation around the positioning of his existing business and thoughts around a new brand, Tractor Shed Brewing.
Once the business proposition had been established we quickly turned to the very talented Cumbrian legend that is Liam Palmer. A Maryport man now working from Manchester, we’ve long been admirers of his illustrative style and have worked together on a couple of projects previously.
Together we created a fresh new identity and brand feel with Liam’s lovely illustrations bringing the bottle labels to life with terrific and absorbing detail – the more you look the more you see. His Cumbrian background became even more relevant when combined with Graeme’s farming background and the beer names were born.
Mowdy, Whistling Pig, Clocker, Heifer, Jinny Howelt and Kessin are all terms that were new to me!
Opposite are a compilation of our ideas around the identity and the developed beer labels themselves. We were all delighted with the results and look forward to tasting the beers in due course – hint hint Graeme!
